Boolean tag filtering (exclude mixes with a certain tag)
Ability to add negative tags to your current filtering criteria.
E.g. I am searching for "dubstep", "electro", and want to exclude all mixes tagged "indie".
Taking this a step further, allow the OR operator, so I could search for "trip hop" OR "trip-hop"
Thanks for the suggestion. I can see how this might be nice addition to hybrowe. Not sure how the UI would work though. I’ll bring it up with the crew and see what the deal is.

Yes, please do this! I hate when the mixes I'm listening to start morphing into dubstep!

Also, this kind of thongs could be implemented to the user's profile:
I'm always looking for electro mixes, but I end up with stuff tagged "Dubstep", which I don't like and never listen to, and I would very much like to wipe it off the results I get! -

Yes, please add this feature. I dislike dubstep with a passion, so I'd rather not be presented with mixes that include it.

Why not use the same thing normal search engines use? Write a - in front of your tag to exclude it. for example: "Electro -dubstep" finds electro without dubstep.

This is exactly what I came here to suggest, I'm glad to see someone else already did. And there's a number of ways I think you guys could implement it. Maybe next to the "Find mixes by tag" text you could have a button that says something like "Avoid mixes by tag." You could keep the same grouping of tags below, but if "avoid" is chosen, when clicked they would be excluded from the search. "Find mixes by tag" could become a button when "Avoid mixes by tag" was chosen, to allow easy switching between the two.

This is a great idea! It would allow for a much more dynamic search and wouldn't be to hard for the user to get used to. The "+/-" or "drag and drop" seem pretty intuitive to me. You could also give the tag images a small x in the upper corner that "blocks" the tag from the search (turns it dark red or something like that to denote the tag as "blocked"). It would be important to allow the user to "unblock" the tag too, in case they change their mind or make a mistake.

It's as simple as a + or - appearing as you hover over a certain tag. Perhaps you could have two fields & drag the tags to it instead.

This is by far my biggest qualm with 8-tracks. I love techno and house music, but don't really enjoy dubstep at all. It is quite difficult to find a mix in the "electronic" or "techno" tags that isn't also "dubstep".
Additionally, being able to search with the OR statement would significantly help me find what im looking for

It would be awesome if you would allow users to exclude/reject a specific tag while searching.
For example: I like mixes with the “House” and “Rave” tags but I don't want to hear any mixes with “Dubstep” or “dub” tags. I like mixes with the “Rock” and “Guitar” tag, but I don't want to hear any mixes with the “Metal” or “Hardcore” tag. There are very fewer "House" mixes without dubstep but i would really like to find them easier.
